Course Overview
The purpose of the course is to provide the learner with a basic knowledge and understanding of engineering drawings. Students will learn to effectively communicate by reading and creating sketches of an object in several views. Using a self-paced approach, students will complete step by step assignments from the textbook.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, the student will be able to:
- Sketch simple objects using orthographic projection.
- Interpret the abbreviations, linetypes and symbols used in engineering drawings.
- Read and interpret tolerances and allowances on engineering drawings.
- Describe the purpose of the Title and Revision Blocks.
- Read dimensions to determine the size and positions of objects and features.
- Identify Imperial and SI (Metric) units.
- Describe the standard scales used for engineering drawings.
