Taking a Fieldtrip Virtual

When fieldwork is difficult for some reason—time, accessibility, or special circumstances such as Covid—videos can be used to fill the learning gap. Video footage of a work location can also serve as an introduction to the field, saving time once learners move out of doors. 3D technology augments video learning by building practice tasks right into a virtual world. For an example of how we worked in partnership with an instructor to develop a virtual fieldtrip, see Creating a Virtual Shoreline.

Instructional Videos

Skills Labs

This example from a nursing series combines demonstration of skills with procedural text.

Fieldwork

We can accompany instructors to the field to film tasks in a real-world setting.

Workshop Demo

This Boilermaker equipment demonstration prepares students for workshop practice.

Learning Glass

Learning Glass technology allows you to write on a transparent board while maintaining face-to-face contact with the camera. Use the equipment yourself or request our help to record your sessions.

Animation

If you’re camera-shy, we can always create an animated version of your content. See us about drafting a storyboard for your lesson.

Professional Production

We can also incorporate graphics, audio, branding, and other features for a finished-looking product as we did in this series for Recreation Services.

3D Virtual Tours

Using technology such as Insta360 Pro and interactive 3D virtual tour software, we create virtual environments for training and general campus information.
