Course Overview
This course teaches you how to create professional medical documents. There is an emphasis on letter formatting and accuracy. You will be introduced to ergonomics, transcribing rules, and medical abbreviations in preparation for medical transcription.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Produce medical documents using proper formatting techniques.
- Produce medical documents by correctly applying transcription rules.
- Distinguish between words that sound similar but are grammatically different in meaning and use.
- Differentiate between full block and modified block.
- State when a number should be a figure, in spelled-out form, or as a Roman numeral.
- Produce professional-looking documents, letters, and emails that are respectful to the recipients and contain proper paragraphs, proper sentence structure, correctly-spelled words and abbreviations, and correct grammar.
- Produce documents, letters, and emails that are styled appropriately for different audiences, such as managers, co-workers, physicians, patients, and businesses.

This is not a self-paced course as you will be expected to be available and online as scheduled. Computer, microphone, and webcam required.
