Our online courses and programs build on knowledge and competencies acquired during prior studies and work experience, so that our students and graduates can apply their new learning immediately in the workforce.
The entrance requirements for our courses and programs are as follows:

Two-year Health Sciences Diploma or a Degree in a healthcare or related field such as business, information technology, or the social science. |
This requirement supports the level of study as defined in our Curriculum and optimizes the success of students who participate in our programs. A Diploma is defined as a minimum of 110 credits. This is equivalent to 60-80 weeks of full-time study. A BCIT Health Sciences Diploma program includes classroom, lab, and clinical activities and represents approximately 130 to 160 credits of study. Credentials achieved through post-secondary studies outside of Canada, United States or United Kingdom should be evaluated by the International Credential Evaluation Service (ICES) to demonstrate meeting this entrance requirement. If you are a BCIT student in the School of Health Sciences and your program matrix includes specific Health Care Management courses, you are already approved to enroll in those courses. Currently working in the health care field, or two-years of prior work experience in a health care setting. |
This requirement enables the experiential-learning activities that are based on our curriculum. A suitable combination of work experience and education in another industry sector may also be also be considered, as determined by the Program Head. If you are a BCIT student in the School of Health Sciences and your program matrix includes specific Health Care Management courses, you are already approved to enroll in those courses.
