Welcome to BCIT Flexible Learning (formerly Part-time Studies). Whether you’re looking to upgrade your skills, prepare to write an industry certification exam, or earn a credential, our part-time courses and programs are designed to fit around your busy schedule.  We offer evening, weekend, distance, online and compressed time-frame courses, and programs that you can complete at your own pace within a set period of time.

We work with industry partners to develop and deliver relevant and current curriculum, and provide you with the opportunity to network with instructors and fellow classmates, so that you’re well positioned to successfully apply your knowledge and skills right away.

How to begin BCIT Flexible Learning

The following list will guide you through the steps to follow in order to get you started:

  1. Explore and choose a program. Once you have decided what program you are interested in, check to see if you meet the entrance requirements.
  2. In order to be able to register, you will need to have a BCIT ID – create or search for your BCIT ID.
  3. You will need to know where to find your course feeshow to register for BCIT Flexible Learning courses, and important key registration dates.
  4. Payment is expected immediately upon registration. We offer a number of payment options at BCIT.
  5. For employer sponsored studies, check the Sponsorship page.
  6. Depending on the program you choose, you may declare your program online. Familiarize yourself first with the program declaration process.
  7. If you require funding for your BCIT Flexible Learning education, check to see if the course or program of your choice is eligible for funding.
  8. Find the required textbooks for your course, or courses.
  9. BCIT courses may be cancelled if minimum enrolment is not reached. If your course gets canceled, you will be notified at least two days prior to the course start date, and you will receive a full refund.
  10. If you need to withdraw from a course, check the fees and refunds deadlines page to see if you qualify for a refund.
