Interprofessional Collaboration & Education

Enhancing healthcare and human services through collaborative, relationship-focused partnerships to shared decision-making around health and social matters” (CIHC, 2024, p.5).
Interprofessional Education is based on the CIHC Competency Framework for Advancing Collaboration [PDF] and highlights six (6) competency domains.

IPE occurs when students from two or more professions learn about, from, and with each other to enable effective collaboration and improve health outcomes for patients (CAIPE, 2002: WHO, 2010).

Vision:

To educate and inspire learners to be leaders in interprofessional collaboration for health care transformation.

Mission:

To promote and support IPE principles across the SOHS programs by integrating national frameworks and accreditation standards and evidence informed teaching and learning strategies.
