Technology requirements

Computer requirements vary by program—check your program page for details. For most students, a basic computer meeting minimum requirements is all you need, but there are exceptions. Review our recommended specifications below, and check your program page for any additional requirements. The specifications below will ensure good performance for needed software running through AppsAnywhere.

*Running software via AppsAnywhere requires a Windows operating system. AppsAnywhere is a PC-based product and cannot deliver applications cross-platform. Students with Mac computers can create a virtual Windows environment using Parallels or VMWare Fusion on their Mac to run Windows, or use the Virtual Desktop BCIT provides – the AppsAnywhere Windows Desktop in Workspace. Students can request a free VMWare license from BCIT; if you wish to run Parallels you will need to source your own copy. BCIT also provides free access to Microsoft software for students including Windows 11 for use in VMWare Fusion.
