Why do students come to counselling?

The top 5 reasons students come to BCIT Counselling are to get support with Anxiety, Depression, Relationships, Stress Reduction, and Academic Progress/Pressures.

BCIT Counsellors are also here to help you:

  • Sort through a wide variety of personal concerns
  • Enhance your educational performance and maximize your success as a student
  • Build decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Work toward your educational, personal, and career goals
  • Get support and respond to a crisis, trauma, or major life event

Practicum Training Program

Counselling and Student Development is also an educational site and takes pride in our counsellor-in-training practicum program that brings Master’s-level counselling trainees to our team on a part-time basis to work under the direct supervision of our Director of Clinical Training. When booking your appointment, you may be provided with the option to meet with a counsellor trainee.

Questions about this program can be directed to Ray deVries at 604-432-8608.
