The School of Construction and the Environment International Exchange program was created to allow domestic, foreign exchange students and faculty gain a global perspective by incorporating first-hand knowledge of the larger world with specific knowledge of the economy, culture, government, and everyday life of the country where they study or teach. Globalisation is the key word in today’s business world and tomorrow’s leaders will be expected to speak multiple languages, work in foreign countries, and bridge cultural differences to achieve social, economic and political objectives. The International Exchange program helps students and faculty take the first step in learning abroad on the path to global citizenship.
Current School of Construction and the Environment students can participate in the International Exchange Program as outgoing students by completing a semester abroad at one of BCIT’s partner universities and get credit for their diplomas. For a shorter time commitment, students can participate in a two to six week summer school if a semester abroad is not a viable option.
Incoming students from partner universities interested in attending BCIT on their semester exchange will get the opportunity to complete a variety of classes from the School diploma programs. Incoming students also get to enjoy all the benefits of a BCIT student while attending BCIT, including services from the BCIT Student Association and BCIT Recreation Services.
