Distinguished Award recipients group shot

BCIT honours staff, alumni, and distinctive individuals through a number of awards programs. These awards, described below, highlight recipients’ significant achievements and contributions to the institute, the community, or their field of expertise.

There are three categories of honorary awards granted by the Institute. BCIT’s authority to grant honorary doctorates is designated by the BC Government and involves the conferring of a degree credential at Convocation. The second category contains recognition awards which do not receive credentials; they include the Distinguished Service, Distinguished Alumni, and Outstanding Student Leadership awards. The third category recognizes outstanding employees through the Employee Excellence and Employee Service Recognition awards.
